Community Grants Awarded: Round 2 2024/25

Murray River Council

Murray River Council has awarded $30,000 in community grants to help support a wide range of community projects.

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were invited to apply for up to $3,000 for projects or events under round two of the 24/25 Community Grants Program, which closed on 7 April.

20 applications were received, seeking a combined total of $46,754.

Mayor Cr John Harvie said the program continues to be a vital way to support local ideas and build stronger community connections.

"Our Community Grants Program assists organisations to deliver initiatives that benefit our wider community."

"It's also a great way to build stronger partnerships between Council and our local committees and groups, so we're once again pleased to support some exciting projects across the region."

The successful projects in this round reflect the diverse needs and priorities of the Murray River Council community, with funded projects spread across various townships and interest areas.

While many deserving applications were received, the selection process was guided by a thorough assessment of each project's merits, consideration of alternative funding options available to applicants, and how else Council might support projects not selected.

The final list of 13 recommended projects was endorsed, with the total funding allocation reaching the full $30,000 available for this round.
