Community Groups Invited For Moe Town Hall Residency

Latrobe City Council is inviting local arts, cultural, performance and community organisations to help shape the future of Moe Town Hall through a new residency opportunity.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for organisations interested in establishing an ongoing presence at the historic venue and contributing to its activation through regular programs, rehearsals, performances, workshops and community activities.

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson, said Council was looking for a community-minded organisation that could help maximise the potential of Moe Town Hall while ensuring the venue remained accessible to the broader community.

"Moe Town Hall has long been an important place for our community. We're excited to find new ways to bring more people into the venue and make it an even busier community space," Cr Gibson said.

"This is not exclusive use of the venue. The Town Hall will continue to host Council's own events and community bookings, while also giving a resident organisation regular access to the space. Our goal is to create a busy and welcoming community hub."

Council is encouraging applications from organisations of all sizes, from volunteer-run groups through to established arts and cultural organisations.

"Our community is full of creative and passionate people, and we want to hear from groups with ideas that bring people together and encourage them to get involved," Cr Gibson said.

"We're looking for creating ideas that show how the Town Hall can be used more often and how local people will benefit."

Located in the heart of Moe, the Town Hall features a main hall, stage, backstage facilities, kitchen and access control infrastructure, and is currently used for community theatre rehearsals, group hire and occasional events.

Successful applicants will demonstrate strong community connections, the ability to deliver regular activities and a willingness to work collaboratively with Council and other venue users.

EOIs close on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
