Community Infrastructure Plan Consultation

Wellington Shire Council is developing a Community Infrastructure Plan and is undertaking research to understand the need for community buildings and places in Wellington.

Council wants to know what community buildings and places are used by the community to participate in activities like meetings, events and functions, exercise, community arts and culture, training, social recreation or hobbies and community education such as short courses. Buildings and places that support these activities include town halls, aquatic, leisure and sporting facilities, early years facilities, youth spaces, parks and public open space, libraries, neighbourhood houses, community centres, cultural facilities and senior citizens centres.

As part of this research, Council wants to understand how individuals and families use community buildings in your local community and outside your local community. We would also like to understand how these buildings and places may need to change to better support you and your family and the wider community.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, Council understands the community is unable to use community buildings and places as per usual, however we are continuing to develop the Community Infrastructure Plan in preparation for the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.
