Community Satisfaction Survey 2026: Campaspe Shire

Campaspe Shire Council will again undertake its annual Community Satisfaction Survey throughout March, engaging an independent market research agency to gather resident feedback on Council's performance across a range of service areas.

Metropolis Research Pty Ltd has been appointed to conduct the phone-based survey, which helps Council track how well it is meeting community expectations and identify opportunities to strengthen service delivery.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell encouraged residents to take part if they receive a call, saying the survey plays a central role in shaping future Council planning.

"We want our community to feel confident that these calls are legitimate and to know that their input genuinely influences Council priorities. Taking a few minutes to share your thoughts gives us valuable insight into what matters to you.

"Your feedback highlights what we're doing well and where we can lift our performance, helping us continue improving the services you rely on," Cr Mackrell said.

As in previous years, both mobile and landline phone numbers are sourced independently to ensure a randomised and representative sample of Campaspe Shire residents. All responses remain anonymous. Metropolis Research will compile the results into a comprehensive report, which will be provided to Councillors and made publicly available.

Council emphasises that the calls are legitimate and that residents will never be asked for personal identification or financial information at any stage.

The annual survey is a requirement under Local Government Victoria's performance reporting framework and gathers importance and satisfaction ratings for major Council services, as well as an overall performance measure. Council is required to conduct the survey annually, with the sample group drawn from a randomised selection of Campaspe Shire residents with the aim to ensure representation across gender, age, and locality.

Cr Mackrell said the results offer a valuable benchmark for Campaspe's performance against other councils across the state.

"These surveys allow us to understand how we compare and, more importantly, what our community expects from us," he said.
