Bayside community members are invited to join Bayside Council's annual Community Walk Against Family and Domestic Violence on Friday 5 December at 7:30am.
The 1.5km walk along the scenic beachfront from the Ramsgate Life Saving Club to Depena Reserve will take around 20 minutes to complete.
Everyone is encouraged to proudly wear orange to stand together in support and solidarity in the fight against domestic and family violence.
A community BBQ will be held at Depena Reserve following the walk for all participants to connect and reflect.
St George Police Area Command, along with DV community services and support organisations, will be in attendance to share information at the end of the walk. There will also be opportunities to hear powerful stories from local advocates and survivors.
The walk is being held to mark the International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
Council partners with key organisations including NSW Police, Bay City Care, Bayside Women's Shelter, Advance Diversity Services, Sydney Multicultural Services, South Eastern Community Connect and other vital local services.
1800RESPECT is available for free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to support anyone impacted by domestic, family or sexual violence.
