Concept designs have now been released for the new Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLCs) at Sorell and East Tamar as part of the Tasmanian Government's commitment to improving educational outcomes.
The concepts designs, which show how the new centres might look and function, are based on feedback from the community consultation conducted last year and have been developed with the school communities and Local Enabling Groups.
We recognise that a child's early years are the foundation for building the skills needed for lifelong learning, engagement and participation in all aspects of Tasmanian life.
This is a major milestone for these important projects, which will provide critical support services to families and young children in these communities.
The Local Enabling Groups for the new CFLCs have representation from the schools, parents and carers and service providers, and have overseen their design to ensure they are shaped by those who will use them.
Construction on the East Tamar CFLC is expected to commence next year, with works on the Sorell CFLC due to start in 2022.
The Tasmanian Government believes regardless of background every young person deserves a quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
