Northern Territory Police hold concerns for a woman who was allegedly seen being pushed into a vehicle on the Ross Highway in Alice Springs this evening.
Just before 5pm Police received a report of a white Toyota Corolla Hatchback with no registration plates, driving erratically 10km east on the Ross Highyway near Heenan Road, Northern Territory Police say.
A member of the public allegedly observed the vehicle stop and a woman and a black dog get out. It is alleged the woman yelled "call the police" before a man from the vehicle dragged her back into the car, leaving the dog behind.
Extensive patrols were carried out at the scene and surrounding areas, but failed to locate the vehicle or its occupants.
Police hold concerns for the woman, who is alleged to have been visibly distraught during the incident.
The woman is described as being of Caucasian in appearance, aged 35 to 40-years-old with reddish hair and was wearing a floral top and black leggings at the time of the incident.
The man is described is being of Caucasian in appearance, wearing a white top with short sleeves, short hair and a bit of a goatee.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information that could assist with investigations is urged to call police on 131 444 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
