Warragul is a step closer to securing 132 new kindergarten places with construction progressing well on the new $3 million Early Learning Centre.

Co-located at the Warragul Primary School, the multipurpose centre will provide 132 new places for three and four-year old kindergarten programs and playgroups. The facility will also include consulting spaces for maternal and child health including allied health support services such as immunisations.

At a site walk through earlier today, Councillors, Officers, contractors and other key stakeholders toured the facility to see how works are progressing.

In recent weeks, framing and roofing has been completed on the 507m2 facility. Currently underway are wall cladding works and service rough ins including running pipes and cables.

The project is on track to be completed mid-2020, ahead of Term 3 enrolments.

This project has been funded in partnership with Federal and State Governments and Baw Baw Shire Council.

As noted by Mayor Cr Danny Goss

"It's fantastic to see so much progress onsite at the new Warragul ELC which will soon provide 132 new much-needed kindergarten spaces. This project has been one of Council's key advocacy priorities over the last few years. Soon we will deliver an outstanding community facility that will service our growing community well into the future."
