Continuing to deliver our plan for all Tasmanians

Jeremy Rockliff,Premier

Our Liberal team is fresh, united, and we are getting on with delivering the things that really matter to Tasmanians.

With the new Cabinet sworn in earlier this week, our team has gotten straight down to work progressing key actions on issues that matter to Tasmanians.

Over the last week, we have:

  • Delivered our election commitment to upgrade the Dodges Ferry Ambulance Station to a double branch station with 24/7 rostered paramedic coverage;
  • Launched a new off-season tourism campaign to entice more visitors to Tasmania;
  • Signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Master Builders Tasmania and TasTAFE to help build a 'High Vis Army;
  • Delivered more than $2 million for our GP After Hours Support Initiative to strengthen community-based services and will see GPs and pharmacies deliver more urgent care during evenings and weekends;
  • Released design concepts for the new $50 million Brighton High School master plan;
  • Announced works are set to begin on new rest facilities for truck drivers near the Howth weighbridge on the Bass Highway;
  • Announced 78 new homes have been completed for social housing in the month of March alone, with the number of homes completed in the December 2021 quarter reaching 999 in seasonally adjusted terms - the highest number in almost 30 years; and
  • Officially opened the EOI process to identify any new sites for the Burnie Court Complex.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is delivering for all Tasmanians.

Tasmanians' priorities are our priorities, that's why we're continuing to invest more into health education, housing and community infrastructure.

We are also continuing to harness Tasmania's competitive strengths to build a resilient and diverse economy, to attract investment and create more jobs.
