Conargo Hall will come alive with conversation, connection and celebration this month as Edward River Council and the Deniliquin CWA host the 2026 International Women's Day Lunch.
Taking place on Sunday 15 March from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, the event will shine a spotlight on this year's theme, "Stories of Strength and Community," inviting locals and visitors alike to celebrate the women who inspire our region.
Guests will enjoy an engaging panel conversation featuring voices from across the community, including Local Citizen of the Year Mari Drennan, creative community advocate Kate Butler, dairy industry leader Janette Falls and former NSW Senator Perin Davey.
The discussion will be guided by respected regional communicator Robbie Sefton AM, who will help draw out the personal stories, experiences and reflections that sit at the heart of this year's theme.
Mayor Ashley Hall said the annual event is a highlight on the local calendar and an important moment for the region.
"International Women's Day gives us the opportunity to recognise the remarkable contributions women make across every part of our community," Cr Hall said. "I'm especially pleased to see this year's event held at Conargo Hall, one of our valued village hubs and a gathering place that reflects the spirit of connection we're celebrating."
"Every year, this lunch brings people together to share in powerful stories, and I'm proud to see our community continue to champion and support the women who lead, support and inspire us," Cr Hall said.
A two‑course lunch prepared by The Crossing and a complimentary drink on arrival will set the scene for an enjoyable and uplifting afternoon. The CWA will also host a raffle with some amazing prizes on the day, adding another element of fun and fundraising to the occasion.
