The Cook Government's Aboriginal Procurement Policy delivered a standout performance in 2024-25, with the value of contracts to Aboriginal suppliers reaching a record $442million.
The latest end-of-year report shows an increase from the previous year's figure of more than $439 million, highlighting the WA Government's strong support for Aboriginal economic participation.
The achievement equates to 6.82 per cent of the total WA Government contracts issued, well above the 4 per cent target.
In total, a record 383 contracts went to more than 158 Aboriginal suppliers across Western Australia.
Data for the report is drawn from Tenders WA records, highlighting agencies that excelled in meeting the benchmarks.
Topping the list were the Department of Communities, Main Roads WA, and Department of Education.
Aboriginal suppliers in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions reaped the biggest share of contracts awarded across the regions.
Over the past six years, Aboriginal businesses have captured more than $1.8 billion in WA Government procurement opportunities.

As stated by Finance Minister David Michael:
"The Cook Government takes great pride in the ongoing success of the Aboriginal Procurement Policy, especially the remarkable progress made over the past financial year.
"With more than $440 million in contracts awarded to Aboriginal suppliers, the policy is delivering real and lasting benefits to participants and supporting communities across regional Western Australia.
"It is particularly satisfying to see we've surpassed the 4 per cent goal, achieving 6.82 per cent of all WA Government contracts secured by Aboriginal suppliers."
