Coolbellup Death Investigation - Ian Baz Bosch, WA

The Major Crime Squad and the family of murdered Coolbellup man Ian Baz Bosch are today renewing calls for public assistance with the investigation, WA Police say.

Mr Baz Bosch suffered a fatal injury when he was attacked by an unknown offender while waiting at a bus stop opposite the Coolbellup Shopping Centre, on Cordelia Avenue, about 7.30am on November 19, 2016.

The 43-year-old landscaper was catching a bus to run some errands before picking up his 10-year-old son and his five-year-old daughter, who he was going to take to a birthday party.

The children’s mother, Emerald Baz, said Ian was a private person who was kind and generous.

"He was the kind of person who would help in any way if he could," Ms Baz said. "This has been very traumatic for his family, including his children, and we urge anyone with information to come forward."

Major Crime Squad detectives are today at a mobile police facility at the Coolbellup Shopping Centre.

"We need to hear from members of the public who were near this shopping centre on the morning of November 19," Major Crime Squad Detective Senior-Sergeant Tom Mills said.

"They may have seen something which seems insignificant, but which may in fact be crucial in the context of our investigation."

The investigation has included searches of bushland near the Coolbellup Shopping Centre and repeated appeals for public assistance.

A number of people captured in CCTV footage have been identified and spoken to, while inquiries into others are continuing. Detectives are particularly keen to speak to a man who was walking a small white dog near the shopping centre on that morning.

The mobile police facility will be at the Coolbellup Shopping Centre until midday today. Alternatively, anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.
