Coronavirus update for Victoria 11 March 2022

There are 185 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria - with 15 active cases in ICU, including 3 on a ventilator, and an additional 12 cleared cases in ICU.

6,013,581 vaccine doses have been administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services, with 5,136 administered yesterday at state-run centres. 1,296 of the doses administered yesterday were for children aged 5 to 11 years, 1,232 of which were second doses.

61.9 per cent of Victorians aged 18 and over have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. 94.1 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over have had two doses. 56.2 per cent of Victorians aged between 5 and 11 years have had one dose.

6,811 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded yesterday. This includes:

  • 4,307 who tested positive on a Rapid Antigen Test
  • 2,504 who returned a positive result on a PCR test

Sadly, the Department was notified yesterday of 10 deaths of people aged in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Three of these deaths occurred in the past two days, four deaths occurred in February and three in January.

This brings the total number of deaths in Victoria since the pandemic began to 2,629.

There are 46,263 active cases in Victoria.

18,523 PCR tests were processed yesterday. The total number of PCR tests performed in Victoria since the pandemic began is 19,671,659.

Vaccination pop-up clinics

The state vaccination program has partnered with Bunnings to establish pop-up vaccination centres at Bunnings stores across Victoria.

Starting Wednesday 16 March, the first vaccination pop-ups will open at Bunnings locations in Wodonga, Keysborough and Melton East, with each operating between 8:00am and 12:00 pm.
