Coronavirus update for Victoria - Sunday 5 September

Victoria was notified of 183 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All were locally acquired cases.

There are 1,417 active cases in Victoria - 1,414 locally acquired and three overseas acquired cases.

There are 89 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 24 cases are in intensive care and 13 cases are on a ventilator.

The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 22,942.

Vaccines

Yesterday, 29,950 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services yesterday.

The total number of doses administered through these services is 2,583,499.

Victoria is less than 350,000 doses away from meeting its target of one million vaccines administered in five weeks.

Around 39,000 vaccination bookings were made yesterday.

Over the next seven days, there are more than 11,000 first dose AstraZeneca appointments and more than 2,000 first dose Pfizer appointments available.
