Victoria was notified of 325 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. 324 were locally acquired and one case was in a returned international traveller in hotel quarantine.
There are 2,166 active cases in Victoria - 2,161 locally acquired and five overseas-acquired cases.
There are 111 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 32 of these cases are in intensive care, with 19 cases on a ventilator.
Of the cases in hospital yesterday, 89 per cent were not vaccinated and 11 per cent were partially vaccinated. No COVID-19 patients in hospital in Victoria were double-dose vaccinated.

Directions update
From 11.59 pm tonight (Thursday 9 September), coronavirus restrictions will lift in regional Victoria, except for Greater Shepparton.
In addition, Victorians who have been residing in a NSW Local Government Border Area for at least the 14 days from Wednesday 25 August to Wednesday 8 September will be able to apply for a new permit exemption category to come home.

Update: Freight and healthcare worker vaccinations
Due to the significant risk that NSW continue to pose to Victoria, we are further tightening border restrictions by adding a requirement to our Specified Worker (Multiple Entry) Permit.
From 23 September, freight and healthcare workers entering Victoria under the Specified Worker (Multiple Entry) Permit must have had at least one vaccination dose before entry.
Evidence can be documentation from the vaccine provider of your first dose or your COVID-19 digital certificate which is accessible through Commonwealth myGov account.
Workers will need to apply for a new permit if their current permit expires after 23 September and confirm that they have received their vaccine dose to be eligible for this permit.
Update: Cross-border Community - Extreme Risk Zone permit
Lockdown lifting in regional Victoria (excluding metropolitan Melbourne and Greater Shepparton) will impact the reasons why someone can obtain a Cross-border Community - Extreme Risk Zone permit to enter or re-enter Victoria.
Currently, work is a permitted reason for a cross-border resident to travel if they wish to enter or re-enter Victoria, and all workers leaving home to attend authorised work in any part of Victoria must be listed on the Authorised Provider and Authorised Worker List.
But when proposed Directions come into effect at 11:59pm 9 September, the requirement for authorised work in Victoria will apply only to metropolitan Melbourne and Greater Shepparton.
This means, from 11:59pm 9 September, the work-related permitted reasons for travel as part of the Cross-border Community - Extreme Risk Zone permit are:
- attending authorised work only in Metropolitan Melbourne and Greater Shepparton
- attending paid or voluntary work that is located elsewhere in regional Victoria, or on the NSW-side of the cross-border community area
If you can work from home, you should. When in Victoria, you must observe the restrictions that are in place.
There are no other changes to the permitted reasons for entering or re-entering Victoria for Cross-border Community - Extreme Risk Zone permit holders.
Vaccines
Yesterday was another record day for vaccinations with 37,604 vaccine doses administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services.
The total number of doses administered through these services is 2,718,247.
Victoria now stands at 63.2 per cent of first COVID019 vaccines administered.
New Chief Health Officer directions are now in place requiring residential aged-care facilities to ensure their workers are vaccinated.
