At first sight, Lisa wasn't sure if Cosmo would be a good match, thinking he was too large and too young, but those thoughts immediately changed as soon she brought him home.
"He's absolutely the perfect dog for me," she said.
"He's fit in perfectly into my life, I didn't think it would happen so quickly. We're like an old couple, we sit on the lounge and watch TV and he's just a lovely dog, he stole my heart."

Cosmo first arrived at the Shellharbour Animal Shelter in February. "Cosmo's story is a reminder that some dogs just need a little extra time to find the right match," Mayor Homer said.
Lisa says she's already getting her pet door made bigger to make Cosmo more comfortable. "Often with a rescue dog, they are very grateful, when he's walking, he so happy to see people."
"He's just like a best buddy, adoption can open the world for these dogs, but it brings you just as much reward as it brings them."
Cosmo's adoption is also a timely reminder for residents to make sure their pet's details are up to date on the NSW Pet Registry.
