Cotton Future: Grower's Voice, Carbon Tour Begins

CRDC

The leaders of Cotton Australia and CRDC will tour Qld and NSW cotton valleys across July, August and September to seek feedback from growers and the wider industry on a number of topics that together will shape the industry's future.

The Grower's Voice and Carbon Chats tour kicks off in Central Qld on 27-28 July for the first of multiple stops throughout Australian cotton valleys.

The visits are scheduled to seek feedback from growers and the wider industry on a number of important topics - including carbon and the Strategic Roadmap for Australian Cotton.

The tour will include short updates on key areas of work happening across the industry, followed by feedback sessions on each topic where you can have your say:

  • Adam Kay, Cotton Australia CEO - Why traceability matters, what the research is telling us, and what's next
  • Allan Williams, CRDC Executive Director - an update on the current myBMP review and what it means for growers
  • Brooke Summers, Cotton Australia Cotton to Market - why human rights are important, and what we're doing about social compliance
  • Meredith Conaty, CRDC General Manager Innovation - critical updates on the cotton industry's data platform and how you can become data platform ready

The tour will also include a practical carbon workshop led by CottonInfo's Carbon Technical Lead Jon Welsh, where you'll hear about:

  • How carbon strategies can support your bottom line
  • What CRDC is doing to close the knowledge gap
  • Real opportunities to make climate-smart farming work on your farm.
