Council Awards $32K in Community Grants

Murray River Council

Murray River Council has awarded $32,240 in community grants to support a diverse range of local projects and events across the region.

Under Round One of the 2025/26 Community Grants Program, community groups and not-for-profit organisations were invited to apply for up to $3,000 in funding to help deliver projects that benefit the broader community.

Mayor, Cr John Harvie said the program continues to be a great way for Council to support local initiatives and strengthen partnerships across the region.

"Our Community Grants Program helps community organisations bring ideas to life, from events and equipment upgrades to small infrastructure projects."

"It's also a great avenue to build on the strong partnerships between Council and our local committees, and we're once again pleased to back some exciting community-led initiatives."

Council received 12 applications under Round One, requesting a total of $32,240 in funding against an allocation of $30,000. The assessment panel determined that all projects demonstrated strong merit and community benefit, recommending full funding for each application.

To accommodate this, Council approved an additional $2,240 to ensure all eligible projects received support. This amount will be offset against Round Two's allocation, leaving $27,760 available for the next round of funding.

The next round of the Community Grants Program will open in December.
