Council continues staged re-opening of Customer Service Centres

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Customer Service Centres will continue to re-open counter service at locations throughout the Region from Monday 6 July 2020.

Following the re-opening of centres in Toowoomba, Millmerran, Crows Nest, Goombungee and Pittsworth, TRC Finance and Business Strategy Committee portfolio lead Kerry Shine said Oakey, Clifton and Highfields would also be re-opened over the coming weeks.

"To re-open any of our facilities, we have had to work through the practicalities of hygiene requirements, staffing arrangements and importantly the ways to allow our staff and the community to maintain social distancing requirements," Cr Shine said.

"Social distancing markings and signage will be added to all front customer areas/thoroughfares, entries and exits and furniture will be spaced to adhere to social distancing requirements.

"Cashless transactions will be encouraged, although cash will be accepted if no alternative is available. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided to staff when handling cash or in the course of their normal duties."

Customer Service Centres which are open from 6 July include:

  • Toowoomba: Monday to Friday - 8.30am - 5pm
  • Millmerran, Crows Nest, Pittsworth, Goombungee: Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8.30am - 5pm
  • Oakey, Clifton: Tuesday and Thursday - 8.30am - 5pm

The following week, Council will re-open the Highfields Customer Service Centre on Tuesday (14 July) and Thursday (16 July).

From 27 July the Customer Service Centres in Toowoomba, Millmerran, Crows Nest, Pittsworth, Goombungee, Oakey, Clifton and Highfields will all be open Monday to Friday from 8.30am - 5pm.

"We thank the community for their continued patience during this unique time," Cr Shine said.
