Howlong Water Information Meeting
- Date: Tuesday, July 22, 2025
- Time: 6pm – 7pm
- Location: Howlong Golf Resort
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook, highlighted the significance of the project and the upcoming meeting.
"We understand that consistent and reliable water pressure is a top priority for our Howlong community," Mayor Cook said.
"This project is a major undertaking, and we are committed to keeping residents fully informed every step of the way. We've already seen key advancements, such as the new 375mm trunk main along Townsend Street now being fully operational, and a new rising main from the treatment plant to the Read Street Water Tower which is expected to be in use from July."
Mayor Cook said this meeting is a crucial opportunity for residents to hear directly about the detailed hydraulic modelling currently underway by NSW Public Works, which will precisely identify areas needing improvement.
"Council will also discuss the potential future works, including estimated costs and timelines for major upgrades like upsizing the town's central ring main and constructing a new, larger water storage tank," she said.
"Your feedback and understanding are vital as we work towards a stronger water service for Howlong."
Council staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide a comprehensive overview of how these strategic actions will improve water services for existing homes and support future growth.
