The City of Burnside has been notified by the Electoral Commission of South Australia (ECSA) that one of its Council Members did not submit the required donation returns form prior to the cut-off date.

The Council Member impacted is Ted Jennings. As of Friday 10 February, Mr Jennings is no longer a Council Member.

However he now has the opportunity to submit an appeal by 20 February to the South Australia Civil Administrative Tribunal (SACAT).

SACAT will then decide if former Cr Jennings is to be restored to his position. This position will remain vacant while this process takes place.

This does not impact Council's ability to deliver on its strategic objectives, nor the day-to-day activities of running the city, with the remaining Council Members continuing to meet to make decisions on behalf of the community.

Council will continue to provide updates as the process unfolds.
