Council to fast-track Plumbing and Drainage Applications

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will soon implement changes to certain Plumbing and Drainage applications to fast-track the process.

TRC Planning and Development Committee Portfolio Lead Cr Bill Cahill said the new process would begin 1 July.

"Council will opt-in to fast-track permit works for certain Plumbing and Drainage applications provided under the current legislation," Cr Cahill said.

"This is a way we are trying to streamline applications and make the overall process easier for our residents."

"Accepted plumbing fast-track permit work will be for one new class 1a building (one single detached dwelling on a single sewered allotment)."

Applicants going through this process must provide the following:

  1. Complete and sign the Form 1 Permit Work Application
  2. Applicable fee
  3. Floor plan
  4. Site plan indicating all boundaries and street frontages. Location of mandatory rainwater tank to be shown
  5. Elevations
  6. All plans to show correct street address or lot/plan and be drawn to scale
  7. A copy of the soil classification report (as per section 5 on Form 1)
  8. A copy of the articulation design (as per section 5 on Form 1)

They also have the option to complete the Notification of Responsible Person form.

To become a registered user, go to Council's New User Registration page or visit the online Customer Service Portal and navigate to the top right of screen and click on the 'Register' link.
