Council to host storm recovery Q&A live on Facebook
Council and Bushfire Recovery Victoria will host a live online Q&A panel this coming Monday 23 August at 5.00pm to answer community questions about ongoing recovery and repair efforts following the severe flood and storm events in June.
In the weeks following the severe weather event, a number of authorities and agencies – including Baw Baw Shire Council – have collaborated to undertake continuous assessment and recovery activities in the areas damaged by storms and floods.
Because of the great variety of issues and the number of agencies involved, Council understands that it can be difficult to know who to turn to to have your questions answered. This session aims to make things easier, by bringing together all the relevant authorities in one place and providing the community with an opportunity to engage with them directly.
The Q&A panel will comprise representatives of the following authorities and agencies currently collaborating in the recovery efforts for the region:
- Baw Baw Shire Council
- Bushfire Recovery Victoria (BRV)
- Regional Roads Victoria (RRV)
- Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH)
- Victorian State Emergency Service (SES)
- Agriculture Victoria
- Red Cross
To ensure the best efforts can be made to fully answer questions on the night, interested residents are encouraged to submit their questions in advance by using the online form found here.
The session will be streamed live online from 5:00pm on Monday 23 August 2021 via Council's Facebook page. The session will also be recorded for later viewing and made available on both Council's Facebook page and Council's website.
Interested community members from all areas of the Shire are invited to take part.
