Council Trials Water Supply Shift for 2026 Winter Prep

Griffith City Council is set to trial an operational change in the local water supply network to support essential maintenance works for winter 2026, including the refurbishment of the city's 14-megalitre water reservoir on Scenic Hill near Hermit's Cave.

The temporary adjustment may result in some residents noticing slight changes to their water pressure. Importantly, water quality will not be affected and will remain safe and fully compliant with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Specialist consultants have been engaged to conduct detailed system modelling to monitor the impacts and ensure the network continues to perform effectively throughout the trial.

The trial is expected to run for approximately three months over July, August and September 2025.

Griffith City Council thanks the community for their understanding as these necessary works are carried out to support the long-term reliability and efficiency of the city's water infrastructure.
