Georges River Council is proud to introduce Councillor Sam Stratikopoulos as the newly elected Deputy Mayor, following his appointment at the Extraordinary Council Meeting on Monday 22 September 2025.
Representing the Blakehurst Ward, Deputy Mayor Sam Stratikopoulos brings a wealth of experience, a deep connection to the local community, and a strong commitment to public service. His election marks a new chapter in Council leadership.
Deputy Mayor Sam Stratikopoulos said, "This is not just a title, it is a responsibility, a privilege, and above all, an opportunity to continue serving the wonderful people of our community."
Mayor Elise Borg said, "I warmly congratulate Councillor Sam Stratikopoulos on his election as Deputy Mayor. He has demonstrated strong leadership and a deep commitment to our community, and I look forward to working closely with him over the next year.

Deputy Mayor Sam Stratikopoulos will serve in the role for the next 12 months, supporting the Mayor and Council in delivering key initiatives and representing the interests of the Georges River community.
