Albany Police are investigating several incidents involving counterfeit Australian currency reported across the Great Southern region.
Counterfeit $50 notes were presented at two separate fast-food outlets in Albany this week, with another incident reported at a licensed premises in Mt Barker in late January.
Businesses are urged to remain vigilant when accepting cash payments and to carefully check the legitimacy of any high-denomination banknotes before finalising transactions.
Uttering false currency is a serious offence, and members of the community are encouraged to report any incidents to police by calling 131 444.
