COVID-19 Alert for SA

State Coordinator and Police Commissioner Grant Stevens, Premier Steven Marshal and the Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier have provided an update in relation to the evolving COVID-19 situation in South Australia.

Five new positive COVID-19 cases have been detected in South Australia with the case linked to the Northern Territory outbreak.

The new restrictions have been imposed for South Australia come into effect later today. The following restrictions now apply in Metropolitan, Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula, Mt Barker and Adelaide Hills areas in South Australia:

  • Home gatherings are capped at a maximum at 10 people per house hold;
  • Masks are highly recommended in indoor public areas and on public transport;
  • It is recommended that people work from home, unless they are essential workers in the above areas; and
  • People must use QR codes (or manual check in system if not available) to check in when attending relevant locations.
