COVID-19 restrictions will be reintroduced from 11.59pm Friday 12 February and indoor Council facilities will close to the public.
The Premier has announced the restrictions as circuit breaker action to combat the current outbreak.
As of 11.59pm Friday 12 February, you must stay at home unless:
- Shopping for necessary goods and services (one person per household, once per day, a support person can accompany if required)
- Caregiving or compassionate reasons
- Essential work or permitted education
- Exercise (can leave for two hours of exercise)
- Other specified reasons (specific exemptions apply).
Exercise and shopping will be limited to five kilometres from your home and face masks will need to be worn indoors and outdoors - whenever you leave home.

Council facilities
In line with the restrictions, the following Council facilities will close from 11.59pm Friday 12 February:
- Customer Service Front Counter at Corporate Centre - 76 Royal Avenue Sandringham
- Brighton, Hampton and Beaumaris libraries
- Community halls and facilities including Seniors Centres, Men's Sheds, Peterson Youth Centre and Community Centres
- Bayside Gallery.
Essential Council services such as delivered meals, in home care and waste and recycling will continue. Maternal Child Health appointments will continue via Telehealth.
The Ordinary Council meeting on Tuesday 16 February will be conducted online via Council's website.
Shakespeare in the Gardens - Romeo and Juliet performance on Sunday 14 February is cancelled.
Testing
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested.
The closest testing sites are at Sandringham Hospital (walk up) and Brighton Golf Course (drive through) - see location details.
