COVID-19 update - 12 April 2020

The Department of Health has today reported three new cases of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the State's total to 517.

All three cases are from metropolitan Perth. Two cases are related to the cruise ship Costa Victoria, with one case still under investigation.

As with all new confirmed cases, contact tracing is underway to ensure all close contacts are notified and advised of the requirement for them to self-isolate.

There are currently 38 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth metropolitan hospitals, 15 of whom are in ICU.

To date, 22,601 Western Australians have tested negative for COVID-19. Of these 4,632 are from regional WA.

WA has 239 recovered cases.
