COVID-19 update - 2 May 2020

Western Australia has recorded no new cases of COVID-19 today – for the third consecutive day.

The State's total number of cases stands at 551. However, 520 people have now recovered from the virus, leaving WA with 23 active cases. Three of these are in regional WA.

Of WA's 23 active cases –six are from the Artania cruise ship, one is from interstate and 16 are Western Australians.

There are 8 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth metropolitan hospitals – three of whom are in ICU.

To date there have been 44,681 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 7,777 are tests carried out in regional WA. Note: WA has adopted the national approach to reporting COVID-19 tests, reporting on the number of tests performed, rather than the number of people tested.

Yesterday, 776 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 694 people were assessed and 687 were swabbed.
