COVID-19 update - 25 April 2020

The Department of Health has today reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the State's total to 549.

The case is 65-year-old female in metropolitan Perth, linked to the Costa Luminosa cruise ship.

As with all new confirmed cases, contact tracing is underway to ensure all close contacts are notified and advised to self-isolate.

There are 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth metropolitan hospitals – four of whom are in ICU.

To date 33,650 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in Western Australia. Of those, 5,964 people have returned negative tests in regional WA.

WA has a total of 478 recovered cases – 55 of these are in the regions.
