Cr Grima Elected Mayor, Cr Bentley To Be Deputy Mayor

Hobsons Bay City Council has elected Cr Diana Grima as Mayor and Cr Lisa Bentley as Deputy Mayor for 2025/26.

Cr Grima and Cr Bentley were elected by Council at a special mayoral election meeting on Friday 14 November.

It is Cr Grima's first term as Mayor, having served two terms as deputy from 2021 to 2023. She was first elected to Council in 2020.

The Altona Meadows ward representative has been a passionate advocate for the Hobsons Bay community, particularly active in the Laverton and Altona Meadows areas.

Cr Bentley will serve as a first-time Deputy Mayor in her first term on Council, having been elected by her community to represent the Williamstown ward last year.

She is a life-long Hobsons Bay resident, and has worked professionally as a counsellor and family therapist for more than 15 years.

Cr Grima will chair her first Council meeting as Mayor on Tuesday 18 November.
