Cr Hugh Fraser, Nepean Ward resigned from Council on Tuesday 9 March.
Mornington Peninsula Shire CE John Baker said It is disappointing Cr Fraser has chosen to resign at a very busy and exciting time for Council. With so many new councillors elected at the last election, there has been an injection of new energy and new ideas, and a focus on new ways of doing things.
"I'd like to thank Cr Fraser for his previous two terms as a Councillor for the Nepean ward and his significant contribution to the Mornington Peninsula Shire. We wish him well."
The Victorian Electoral Commission will now begin a countback process to fill the vacancy in the Nepean Ward. We expect to know more about the timing of this process in the coming days.
