Cranbourne fatal collision 16 February

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision between a car and pedestrian in Cranbourne this evening.

Police and emergency services were called to Thompsons Road about 8.45pm after reports that the car and a pedestrian had collided.

The pedestrian, a man, sustained critical injuries and unfortunately died at the scene.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined.

Police are asking for anyone may have seen a pedestrian acting strangely or walking in the vicinity of the South Gippsland Highway and Thompsons Road or who may have witnessed the collision or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
