Crash at Elizabeth South, South Australia

A woman sustained serious injuries in a crash at Elizabeth South this afternoon.

Emergency services responded after two cars collided at the intersection of Philip Highway and Walsh Street, Elizabeth South just before 3pm on Thursday 19 September. A nearby patrol car was quickly on scene.

The male driver and female passenger of a red Ford sedan were injured in the crash and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance. The woman sustained serious injuries and had to be cut from the vehicle.

The elderly male driver of the silver Ford was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

The crash is causing delays for southbound traffic on Philip Highway and drivers should avoid the area if possible.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
