Crash at Tennyson, South Australia

A man has miraculously escaped injury after his car crashed into a fence at Tennyson and caught fire.

Just before 3am on Friday 27 March, a man driving a Mercedes sports car west on Trimmer Parade, has failed to stop at the intersection of a Military Road, gone over the centre median strip and careered into a concrete fence of a home.

The driver, a 28-year-old man from Kidman Park managed to free himself from the wreckage just before the car caught fire .

Police, Fire and Ambulance paramedics attended the scene. The car fire was quickly extinguished before the fire could spread.

The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a check-up and blood to be taken, but he incredibly he escaped unscathed from the crash.

Western District Police are investigating the crash and will await the results of the blood test before any possible charges are laid.

The Mercedes sports car was extensively damaged in the crash and had to be towed form the scene.
