Crash + six times over limit = no licence

A woman will face court after being detected at more than six times over the legal limit.

Just after 3.30pm on Wednesday 9 December, patrols were called to Glenelg South, after reports the driver of a Subaru sedan had left the scene of a crash. Police located the car stopped on Maroong Avenue and breath tested the driver who returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.315 - more than six times the legal limit.

Further enquiries revealed the driver had allegedly crashed into a Toyota sedan parked on nearby Farrell Street before witnesses reported the Subaru driving off.

The 35-year-old from Glenelg was reported for drink driving, driving without due care and leaving the scene of a crash. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

The woman was also issued with an immediate 12 month loss of licence and her car was towed from the scene.
