Creating Local Jobs: Territorians encouraged to buy local this Christmas

Territorians are being urged to shop locally to support local businesses this Christmas.

Minister for Business and Innovation Nicole Manison has helped launch a Buy Local Christmas campaign today encouraging Territorians to support local business, which in turn supports local jobs.

A series of TV, print and social advertising, reminding Territorians about the importance of buying local, has now commenced.

Prior to coming to office, the Territory Labor Government made an election promise to strengthen Buy Local conditions and support job creation. Last year Government announced the Territorys first ever Buy Local Advocate, and since 2016 has introduced a raft of Buy Local reforms to support Territory jobs.

As stated by Minister for Business and Innovation Nicole Manison

The Territory Labor Governments number one priority is creating local jobs.

When you buy local, you support local jobs, strengthen our economy and help our community.

Whether its your work Christmas lunch at a local restaurant, the gifts under the tree for your loved ones or the leg of ham on your Christmas table all Territorians can do their part by buying locally.
