The grants aim to better support the region's creative industry by allowing individuals artists and creatives to apply, along with arts groups, cultural groups, and community organisations.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the Creative City Grants Program reflects Council's commitment to investing in the local creative sector.

"Investment in the arts and creative industries is a core business of Council, however we need to ensure this investment is effective and relevant," he said.

"This new grants program will increase accessibility to local creatives, groups and organisations, will streamline the application process and will increase the potential for more ambitious and impactful projects that encourage investment into the region."

Cr Sali said the arts played an important role in building social connection, community wellbeing and economic vitality in the region. He encouraged any interested creatives to consider applying for their share of funding.
