After the success of last year's inaugural Creative Collections project, Orange Regional Museum is again inviting artists to create works in response to items in its permanent collection.
Artists working in any artform are invited to submit expressions of interest to develop a create response to one object from the collection, selected from a shortlist prepared by Museum staff.
The work will be acquired by the Museum and may be used in exhibitions, public programming, education programming and/or promotions/communications.

A red silk kite by Liss Finney was part of the 2025 Creative Collections project
This project aims to interpret the collection in new ways, challenge traditional concepts in local history and highlight alternative perspectives on our region.
Successful artists will be asked to present their works in a public program tentatively scheduled for July 2026.
Orange Regional Museum will host an open online information session Meet the Objects from 4-5pm on Wednesday 10 December 2025.
This session will allow Museum staff to show and talk further about the shortlisted objects and allow interested artists to ask questions.
All registered attendees will receive a video recording of the session. Register at https://ORMmeettheobjects.eventbrite.com.au.
Successful artists will be supported with additional information about the object (where available) and an opportunity to visit the Museum to view the object and undertake additional research.
Expressions of interest close a 5pm on Friday 16 January 2026.
