Creative COVID-19 Grants Update

As part of our $7.46 million community and business support package, on April 9, Council launched two creative grants programs.

Creative Business COVID-19 Quick Response Grants and Creative Community Quick Response Grants provide a total of $185k to support Yarra's creative community to adapt, create and develop during this period of physical isolation.

So far we have provided $62,070 funding to support of 28 Creative Community applications and $40,000 funding to support of 11 Creative Business applications. Successful Creative Community projects include a public art window installation, online story time for Rainbow Families, free online dance sessions, live music streaming, on-line rap battles, a sewing club and many more creative outcomes.

Successful Creative Business projects include support for online shopping platforms, equipment and support for live streaming of music and art classes, virtual art tours and digital strategy development. Further Creative applications are currently being assessed. The grant rounds have now been paused pending the outcome of these assessments.
