Kiama Council

Creativity, connection and camaraderie were in the air at The Pavilion recently for The Creative Business Summit.
Likeminded creatives gathered at the picturesque seaside location to learn practical and inspiring ways to run a joyous and profitable business.
Funded by a grant from Kiama Municipal Council, the one-day event attracted a bunch of artists, designers, photographers, writers, performers, makers and creators.
The Creative Business Summit organiser and host Emma Veiga-Malta has 30 years' experience running creative businesses in Europe and Australia.
"I think people are craving human, in-person connections today, and creatives especially need to feel connected to each other," she said.
"The day was joyous - filled with creative business education, creative inspiration and a sense of community."

Plans are already underway for next year's event, which will include creative business marketing, ditching the "starving artist mentality", panel discussions and guest expert speakers on a wide range of practical and inspirational topics.
"We have already sold 40% of the tickets for 2027 and people are coming from across Australia to our beautiful part of the NSW South Coast. We're putting Kiama on the creative business map," Ms Veiga-Malta added.
Next year's event will be held on Thursday 5 August at The Pavilion. Visit The Creative Business Hub for more details.
