Crib Point Township Plan Refresh adopted

At its Council meeting on Tuesday 4 May, Council adopted the Crib Point Township Plan Refresh.

The Refresh is an update of the original 10-year-old plan and was placed on public exhibition for community feedback last winter.

The Plan includes a long-term vision and guidance for the future development of Crib Point and was prepared in consultation with the town's residents and other stakeholders, following community concerns that out-of-character multi-unit developments were occurring within the township. It seeks to provide greater certainty for residents, landowners and stakeholders regarding the future of Crib Point over the next 10-20 years.

An amendment to the Mornington Peninsula Planning Scheme will now be initiated to implement the Crib Point Township Plan Refresh. Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed changes as part of the amendment process.

"Thank you to the community who had their say last year. The refreshed plan ensures Crib Point will continue to have the look, feel and function of a country town on the coast, closely connected with its natural environment."

Quote attributable to Cerberus Ward Councillor Lisa Dixon:

"Thank you to the locals who provided their thoughts and ideas. The original vision remains current with the updated Plan setting the strategic vision and direction for the township's development, aiming to protect Crib Point's unique character of tree lined streets and a mix of old and new houses."
