Cricket Victoria Foundation unveils new strategic pillars to drive community impact

The Cricket Victoria Foundation has announced a refreshed strategic framework, introducing three pillars that will guide how it invests in people and communities across Victoria.

The three pillars – Access to the Game, Building the Future, and Strengthening Community Wellbeing - reflect the Foundation's mission to use cricket as a vehicle for positive social change, accessible to all Victorians regardless of background or circumstance.

At the heart of the framework is a commitment to removing barriers to participation. Access to the Game recognises that for too many Victorians, financial, geographic, physical or social obstacles stand between them and the cricket field. The Foundation's work under this pillar is focused on ensuring those barriers come down.

Building the Future looks beyond the boundary to invest in the long-term development of people and pathways. Whether nurturing the next generation of players, coaches, or community leaders, this pillar is about equipping Victorians with the skills and opportunities to grow on and off the field.

The third pillar, Strengthening Community Wellbeing, draws on cricket's deep roots in Victorian communities to foster belonging, resilience, and social connection. It acknowledges that sport, at its best, does far more than entertain; it builds the social fabric that holds communities together.

Cricket Victoria Foundation Chair Mia Horner said:

"These three pillars represent our deepest conviction that cricket has the power to change lives."

"The Cricket Victoria Foundation exists to ensure that every Victorian, no matter who they are or where they come from, can experience the joy, connection, and growth that this sport can provide."

"This strategic framework gives us a clear and purposeful direction as we work alongside our partners and communities to create lasting impact."

Cricket Victoria Head of Foundation Ben Brennan said:

"Cricket has an extraordinary reach into Victorian communities, and the Foundation is uniquely placed to harness that reach for genuine social good."

"With these three pillars as our guide, we will be more focused than ever in how we invest, partner, and deliver programs that make a real and measurable difference."

"From grassroots participation through to long-term community wellbeing, this is our commitment to the people of Victoria."
