Cricket Victoria and School Sport Victoria (SSV) have renewed their partnership agreement running from 2025 to the end of 2028, aiming to enhance cricket opportunities for primary and secondary school students across Victoria.
The agreement will see both organisations collaborate to deliver opportunities for students to participate in cricket at all levels of school. Cricket Victoria will continue to support key school-based initiatives and ensure that all students across the state are able to play cricket.
SSV will in turn promote cricket opportunities to its extensive school network, align interschool sport formats with community cricket programs, and support transitions for students from school competitions into local clubs.
Throughout 2024, SSV data published earlier this year detailed 37,388 students participated in cricket, with a breakdown of 68% of participants as male and 32% of participants as female.
The renewed agreement represents a joint commitment to continuing to promote cricket participation and fostering positive sporting experiences for young people across Victoria.
