Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the U17 Country & Metro Male Emerging Players squads for the 2026-27 season.
The program features pre-season sessions running through until their camp at the Mildura Sporting Precinct, where squads will play both T20 and 50-over matches under lights.
Working directly with Cricket Victoria's High-Performance staff and experienced Premier Cricket coaches, the program will introduce players to key themes around what it takes to be a professional cricketer at an elite level.
"Our focus remains on helping these players progress as athletes and individuals, while exposing them to different formats that challenge and enhance their game holistically." said Cricket Victoria Male Talent Development Manager, Tom Evans.
Victoria's U17 squads have been nominated from Cricket Victoria's key U16 pathway competitions, including the Manhari Country Cup, and from their performances within their Premier Cricket Clubs in the Dowling Shield.
Ryder Medalist and Talent Development Specialist James Miller and Country Talent Specialist Shane Koop will lead the U17 program alongside experienced Premier Coaches Shannon Young and Daniel Hutton, with former Victorian and Australian representative Julien Wiener as Program Mentor.
Both the Victoria Country and Metro U17 final teams will be selected ahead of the Cricket Australia National Championships, with locations and dates for the championships to be announced by Cricket Australia.
