A critical incident investigation is underway following a crash in the State's north.
About 3.25pm yesterday (Wednesday 26 November 2025), officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District and State Crime Command's Raptor Squad were attempting to speak with a 43-year-old man, who was allegedly riding a motorcycle unlicenced, inside a holiday park on The Lakes Way, at Forster.
Upon sighting the police, the man allegedly continued riding the motorcycle and drove towards them, striking an officer on the leg.
The motorcycle then hit a vehicle before colliding with a stationary vehicle on The Lakes Way, Forster.
The 43-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious leg injuries.
He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and a critical incident team from Mid North Coast Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
