Critical Injury Collision In Fitzroy

Melbourne Highway Patrol officers are investigating after a car struck a pedestrian in Fitzroy this afternoon.

It is understood the male pedestrian was struck by a white Ford Transit on Victoria Parade between Napier Street and George Street about 3.25pm.

The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital with critical life-threatening injuries.

The male driver and sole occupant of the Ford stopped at the scene and rendered assistance.

Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage of the pedestrian westbound on Victoria Parade prior to the collision.
