Macedon Ranges Shire Council has approved leave of absence requests for two councillors at its Scheduled Council Meeting held on 23 September 2026 who are standing as candidates at the upcoming Victorian State Election.
Council approved a leave of absence for Kate Kendall under section 35(4) of the Local Government Act 2020, commencing 1 October 2026 and concluding upon the declaration of the result for the District of Macedon in the 2026 Victorian State Election.
Council also approved a leave of absence for Dominic Bonanno from 24 September 2026 until 30 November 2026 under section 35(4) of the Local Government Act 2020.
As resolved by Council, neither councillor will receive a councillor allowance during their respective periods of leave.
Council will continue to operate as normal throughout these periods, with councillor representation and governance responsibilities maintained in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020.
