Cross Border Visits To Boost Construction Safety

SafeWork NSW and WorkSafe ACT have joined forces in a coordinated effort to strengthen work health and safety (WHS) across the region.

The two WHS regulators will conduct unannounced compliance checks on construction sites during a two-day campaign aimed at verifying that safety obligations are being met to ensure workers remain safe on the job.

Inspectors are expected to visit construction sites in Queanbeyan, Canberra and the surrounding areas between 16 and 18 September to confirm work health and safety compliance is at the forefront of all business operations.

Unsafe work at heights remains one of the top safety risks across worksites and will be the primary focus of the visits.

This joint initiative aims to ensure a consistent regulatory approach for businesses operating across both NSW & ACT.
